Keith vs the NSW Police

As many of you know, my drivers license has been suspended for 6 months from the 25th of July, 2008 for speeding.

The Incident: For a road trip with CYC to Port Macquarie, I was scheduled to drive a car full of people up after they finished work.  I left Sydney at 6pm and was driving along the Pacific Highway when at 9:43pm I was pulled over by police for speeding about 100km south of Port Macquarie.  I was caught driving 45km/h over the speed limit (160km/h in a 110 zone) and my license was suspended for 6 months and fined $1674.  In adddition i was caught driving in the overtaking lane and fined an additional $243.  Then CY (not CYC) drove my car for the remainder of the trip.

When i got home, I paided the $243 fine but decided to send the $1674 fine to the court to be appealed.

Court Appearance 1:  Then in August, i decided to try to appeal the fine at Burwood local court except that was a complete waste of time.  I found out that because i was suspended directly by the police, the local court had no jurisdication over my case.  So i wasted a whole day at court.  Even worse was that it took longer than i thought so that i missed Tuesday Cell (remember i am the cellgroup leader for Tuesday cell).

Court Appearance 2: Then in October my appeal came back with a court appearance at Forster local court on November the 5th.  Initially was thinking of attending (although it would require a Countrylink train to Taree then a coach to Forster) in person.  In the end i had an exam that day so couldnt make it so instead i sent a letter.  About a week later, i received that they reduced my fine to $1674 to $1600.  But as the court fees cost an additional $73, i really only saved $1.  But now i had the option of paying in fortnightly installments with a minimum of $100.

I finally got off my butt about 2 weeks later and went to Burwood local court and told them my payment option was to pay $100 every fortnight (which was accepted).  Then i would finally pay off my fine next July which is a whole year after the incident.  I do have the money in the bank, but i would rather have it spend as much time in my netbank account gaining interested since my fine would not increase.

Although i admit my Mazda 3 has some power with its 2.2L engine, i honestly have no idea how i managed to reach 160km.  The road was straight and smooth so i must of been building speed gradually.  I know it wasnt because i was pressing the accelerator too hard because i hate the sound the engine makes when i rev it up.  Plus I recently went on a trip with CYC (not CY) down to Mollymook (about 250km south of Sydney) and he was driving my Mazda 3 but did not exceed 120km/h (CYC has the same mentality as me when it comes to speeding)

JCCF ECamp Photos

in addition to my own photos, i also have some of Shaun's photos (the photographer with the black leather jacket).  on the night of day 2, i tried to copy his photos onto my external harddrive.  but for some reason, my HDD was locked.  so Shaun was nice enough to burn the photos onto a dvd for me.  these are the photos that would be put onto the DVD that he will eventually burn for ppl

JCCF ECamp

i really could feel the bonding from this camp.  although at the start of the camp, i didnt know anyone in my dorm but now i feel like i really get along with the ppl in my family (or maybe its thanks to facebook).  barely a week has passed and we are already organising a reunion (which has never occured before since i normally goto church camps where there is no point since u see each other every sunday).

although most of the time i didnt make the initiative to speak to people outside of my 'family' due to time constraints as i wanted to film as much as possible.

after driving to the station twice to drop ppl off, i stayed for a bit longer before finally driving away from Katoomba.   on the way back, i was driving in a hurry as there were several points which the speedometer hit 140km/hr and i was constantly changing lanes (But Thank God that there was no accidents or that i did not feel tired once)

the last three days have mainly consisted of me copying and editting my footage or sleeping.  but i finished editting all my footage which includes:

  • Each Worship session
  • Each Talk
  • Matthias' sharing on day 2
  • the drama starring Sarah, Cliff and Daniel
  • 7 groups playing Evanne and Matthias' game
  • 4 group playing the 十架路 (including the Committee)
  • a piano performance by Andy, Nelson and Joshua
  • the funeral march
  • Daniel and ET's attempted robbery
  • Eric Lam singing K ge zhi Wang

these vidoes make up almost 5 gigs on my computer.  if you want these videos, give me a USB device the next time u see me.  i prefer transfering using USB since im lazying to burn multiple DVDs

Performance Night Videos

i borrowed Adrian's DC last tuesday but couldnt do anything with it as i lacked the necessary programs to copy the videos onto my computer.  so saturday afternoon, i visited him to borrow the necessary software then i spent saturday night and sunday copying the performance night videos onto my computer.

i managed to upload all the team performances as well as Zoe's dance.  they are available here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=61ce51f3beeb04647c6e3be0a33e891a7cf680e83d4dd1d9

This includes:
Caring Team on Grace
Cell Leaders Team on Human Being
Outreach Team on Jesus's sacrifice
Newsletter Team on Trust

Ill have also uploaded the videos to facebook except im waiting for the encoding to finish.  They would be available then

PS: Adrian also gave me the videos from Ben, Joseph and Paul Chi's bday in 2006.  ill copy them to my computer later but im thinking twice about uploading them due to current relationship problems at CCF due to the contents of the video.  Do you think i should upload these videos to the net?  I had a good laugh watching the videos again but I think its best if you just copy it off me in person.  If you dont mind waiting, you can copy if in a month's time at JCCF camp or a month after that once uni starts again.

i dont mean to boast but im pretty much already on holidays.

on monday i handed in a group assignment which was pretty much my last assignment for this sem.  All i have left is one exam on the 20th which happens to be open book since theres a lot of table and graphs that i need to do the questions.

then last week, Candy mentioned she really wants to see the videos from Performance Night which Adrian has on tape but hasnt put them on the comp yet.  So i asked to borrow the tapes to do that for him.  So yesterday i drove Adrian home from uni and borrowed his video camera and the tape from performance night.  He also gave me the tapes from Joseph, Ben and Paul Chi's bday in 2006.

Plugging the camera into my comp did nothing so i called Eric Lam for advice.  He told me to plug the camera into my dvd then record the footage onto a dvd.  then rip the dvd.  So ill do that when i get the right cable.  So hopefully i would be able to upload footage from Performance Night and BJP's bday onto youtube and a file sharing website.
